Handy Hack to Organize Your Sink & Your Workspace
You're not alone if you feel like organizing items under your sink and aimless paperwork around your workspace can be challenging. It can be even more of a nuisance when you live in a smaller space or space that has limited storage like I do. I knew I needed something that would add style and order to my space. If you haven't done so already - be sure to checkout how I created a laundry nook within my apartment - here. This just goes to show you that living in a small space or organizing on a budget is totally doable.
I came across the 'Men's Drop-Front Shoe Box' from The Container Store which quickly became a very practical solution to contain the items under the bathroom sink and my business materials. When shopping for organizing products remember they should be able to serve several purposes and should not be limited to solving just one problem. You can save so much money when you buy multi-functional products!
I desired to conceal and protect my toilet paper which is exactly what the 'drop-front shoe box' delivered, and more. Its translucent design provides convenience because I can quickly gauge when I'm running low and need to restock. The easy, pull down tab opens, closes, and snaps securely into place when accessing the toilet paper. Once I shifted some of my other belongings under the sink, I was able to store items on top of the 'drop-front shoe box' which showcased its durability. I was surprised that it allowed me to maximize my storage space which is always a bonus!
I used another shoe box, the 'clear stackable small shoe box' also from The Container Store to hold my hair comb, hair brush and other hair accessories. I also repurposed a vase to store my nail polish collection and and positioned it behind a 4-part organizer that holds additional hair accessories. When you're preparing for the day, time is of the essence and shouldn't be wasted searching for any one particular item.
Now, for my office space, I opted to keep my business materials separate from non-business materials. I don't like to have things out in the open unless they are contained; on the other hand, I still enjoy being able to view my belongings which is another reason why I chose the 'Men's Drop-Front Shoe box.'
Inside the second shoe box I stored my label-maker, business cards, journals, envelopes, and other business-related materials. Similar to the storage of the toilet paper, I am able to quickly access materials when necessary. I didn't think it was important to implement a complex system because my apartment is a temporary space and when I selected the 'drop-front shoe box' I knew that I was selecting a versatile product. Functionality, quality, and versatility always wins in my book!
The goal was to maximize my storage space in a simple manner without breaking the bank. The 'Men's Drop-front Shoe Box' is priced at $9.99 which is reasonable for a product that can be used in so many ways. If you have a vast shoe collection then you can organize them in an organized and stylish way. Or you can get creative and store crafts, books, magazines, documents and other miscellaneous items inside the 'Men's Drop-Front Shoe Box' for convenience.
